Where are you located?
Dr. Byrne is located in New York City. She is licensed in New York and works with individuals virtually throughout the state.
What are your areas of expertise?
Dr. Byrne provides individual therapy with young adults and adults coping with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and adjustment to new or difficult life circumstances. She also has significant interest and specialized training in helping individuals navigate infertility and reproductive concerns, including egg/embryo freezing and reproductive technology (e.g., IUI, IVF).
What type of treatment do you utilize?
Individual therapy with Dr. Byrne combines traditional support with evidence-based treatment, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
What are your fees, and do you accept insurance?
Fees are $300 per 45-minute session. Like many private practices in New York City, Dr. Byrne does not currently accept insurance. She can provide monthly statements, called superbills, that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Individuals who have out-of-network mental health benefits often find that their insurance company will reimburse between 30-80% of the therapy fee. Therapy fees are typically reimbursable by HSA/FSA accounts.

Dr. Byrne can provide a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss goals and fit before scheduling an initial consultation. The initial consultation will last for 60 minutes (ongoing weekly sessions are 45 minutes). The initial consultation is an opportunity to learn more about what is bringing you into therapy and to provide you with information about treatment approach. During this session, we will also discuss relevant life history and identify goals for therapy.
